HALBERG’s energy scouts finished second the statewide competition in Mainz

Two apprentices participating in the statewide competition “Energy saving in the company”, announced by the Chamber of Industry and Commerce, finished second with their Project “. They now have the chance to present at the nationwide final in Berlin.
Both are in the second year of apprenticeship for industrial mechanic and developed their project “Chip conveyors” from the first idea via data collection and analysis to the approval by management and hand over to the local facility team for the implementation. The idea was to look for a possibility to have the chip conveyors of the CNC machines, currently running all the time only running as needed. The solution is to install two time relays in the work spindle of the machine and the motor of each chip conveyor, so that the chip conveyors are only running for the short time they need to remove the chips.
